How do we know Christ will return and how do I prepare?

There are people out there today who say that we have been in the end times for years. They say that Christianity is false cause of this. But if the return was closer back then how much more is it now. I know Christ will return because he said he will. You see Jesus is God made flesh and God is not a man that he can lie. This according to Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoke, and shall he not make it good?(Websters Bible) You see it is true he can not lie so if he said he is coming back he is. He reassures his disciples of this fact in the gospel of John.

John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
John 14:4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
John 14:5 Thomas saith to him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

Lets look at 1st Thessalonians.

1Th 4:15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain to the coming of the Lord shall not precede them who are asleep.
1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Th 4:17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1Th 4:18 Wherefore, comfort one another with these words.

This next text is to tell you since we know he is coming how to prepare.

1Th 5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write to you.
1Th 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
1Th 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
1Th 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
1Th 5:5 Ye are all children of light, and children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
1Th 5:6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
1Th 5:7 For they that sleep, sleep in the night; and they that are drunken, are drunken in the night.
1Th 5:8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breast-plate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.

The verses above tells us how to prepare we are to prepare by being sober and aware of the signs.
Now lets turn to Hebrews.

Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Okay lets look at this assembling is coming together. We should come together as the church(the believers not the building) even more as we see his return is coming neigh.

Just follow this and you will be prepared. Prepared for the return of the King.
